I’ve followed Lester for several years, and I’ve always been a fan of his playing. When he and I played a few of the same festivals and got to know him on a personal level, I was blown away by how kind and humble he is. This is a man who I saw destroying a drum set with all of the chops/authority/musicality in the world a few minutes before, and he is able to walk off the drum riser and be a totally normal human being. That is rare.
